Better Than Bots: With FB & IG’s new ban on bots, VN Tech has you covered

With the days of snail mail long gone, we relish in the fact that we can have nearly everything automated for us. We set alarms and reminders on our phones, our bills are paid online with the click of a button, we can even have groceries delivered to our houses! But there are still a few things that we just want plain old human hard work for.

Facebook and Instagram have recently banned bots. In an announcement on we read “Today Ime Archibong, VP Platform Partnerships, announced some updates to the Facebook platform, which also impacts Messenger. These critical steps will give people more control of their data, and put stronger protections in place to prevent misuse. As it relates to Messenger, we are currently pausing app review, which means there will be no new bots/experiences added to the platform while we review our policies and make necessary adjustments. Existing Messenger experiences will continue to function as is.”

But what is a bot? HubSpot tells us, “‘Bot’ is a generalized term used to describe any software that automates a task.”” Bots can do a myriad of things for social media. Some of them deal with conversational commerce, allowing consumers and brands to interact. Some of them automate posting and other things you may not have time for while running your small business.

But what’s the drawback? Plain, old, human interaction. Sure, technology has come a long way. It’s great not to have to think about every little thing during the day. There are automations and algorithms for a variety of different things, but it’s missing human instinct. There’s only so much a bot can do!

With companies like Facebook and Instagram banning, and allowing different activities, it’s better to have a reliable person or team you can count on. At VN Tech, we know when and how to post for you and boost your business. We’re real people ready to really converse with your existing and potential customers and clients! We watch trends, listen to the people, and keep the communication alive (literally…)

Some might think that pushing straight from Facebook to Instagram is the solution to all their problems. Not the case. Facebook and Instagram are completely different! Timing for views, how they are presented, and the user base are so different that one simply doesn’t work for the other.

Who knows that? We do. We know how each platform works, and what works for each platform, and your business. Check us out today! If you’ve got any questions, you’ll get an answer from US, not a bot.
